History Of The Ear Candle

Ear Candles - A Ritual With A Long Tradition

Where precisely the ear candles come from, and who first discovered the relaxing effect of the ritual can no longer be exactly proven today. However, we know for sure that they have a long tradition in the centuries-old cultures of indigenous peoples and that they are used worldwide as healing and ceremonial remedies.

There is evidence of traditional practices with ear candles in the Far East, from ancient Egyptians as well as the Native Americans, the Hopi Indians. There are also ceremonies with ear candles among the indigenous people of Indonesia, China, the Mongols and the Huns as far as the Ural region, in Lapland and among the Inuit.

The indigenous peoples of South and Central America also use ritual sticks similar to ear candles. Even in the Arabic region, hollow candles were used for ear cleaning. Probably Europeans already knew ear candles in earlier times.

Meanwhile, ear candles have been used successfully by alternative practitioners in Germany for more than 30 years.
