Interesting facts

Careful, Fake!

Who doesn't know it. Online products look beautiful - but when you hold the order in your hands, you are disappointed and annoyed when your expectations are not even remotely met. But it's not only disappointments that lurk on the Internet, but goods of inferior quality also find their way into the virtual shopping basket from time to time.

There are also black sheep among the suppliers of ear candles. China is one of the largest honey producers in the world. Large quantities are exported to Europe and the USA. However, bees are not always the actual producers of "honey." A few years ago, it became known that there are honey counterfeiters who produce alleged honey from water, sugar, colouring, and alum powder (https://www.scmp.com/news/china/article/1264335/chinas-next-food-scandal-honey-laundering).

Since honey as a natural product has no uniform appearance, ultimately, only a laboratory can prove whether it is synthetic or real honey.

But not only honey from Far Eastern countries has been counterfeited. Also, other products made of beeswax, such as ear candles, are brought to the German or European market at low prices and with inferior quality. To use only high-quality ear candles, you should pay attention to the place of origin and consider that beeswax is an expensive raw material. Therefore it is advisable to be sceptical about heavily discounted bargains and to instead rely on products "Made in Germany." European manufacturers have to meet stricter requirements, and the use of inferior raw materials can almost be ruled out here.
